G.E.T. Youth

(not just a name; it's an agenda)

G.E.T. Youth meets every Sunday morning at 10:00 am
and every Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.

G.E.T. Youth Ministries is a ministry founded upon I Peter 2:9 which says..

"Ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show
forth praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light."

Knowing that every student is important in the eyes of God. G.E.T. Youth Ministries
seeks to develop today's youth into Gods Extreme Teens. It is a ministry designed with the help of the Holy Spirit  to effectively disciple and equip students to live a consistent Christian life in the 21st century. It is a ministry that strives to present a powerful gospel message with a genuine anointing that will minister to both the churched and the unchurched youth of today's society. It is a ministry that encourages the youth of today to not only have a relationship with Jesus Christ, but to also have an encounter with the Holy Spirit; just as the 120 did in the book of Acts. As a ministry of the Church of God, G.E.T. Youth Ministries is Pentecostal in both our beliefs and our worship. We are a ministry that believes in the whole bible rightly divided and that it is the foundation we should build our lives upon. This ministry is based upon five purposes of the New Testament church found in Matthew 22:37-40 and Matthew 28:19-20-- Worship, Ministry, Evangelism, Fellowship, and Discipleship. The ultimate goal for G.E.T. Youth Ministries is to: Gain teenagers, Guide them into Gods love, help them Grasp their spiritual gift, help them Grow in Christian Relationships, and above all Glorify God in all things.

LETTER FROM THE YOUTH DIRECTOR

Here at the Upper Room Worship Center, we are a caring, loving and a devoted bunch of people and it doesn't stop with our adults. Our teenagers, better known as G.E.T. Youth, are just the same. Like teenagers in every church we have our differences but as Christians and with the help of the Holy Spirit we always seem to work it out. Our teenagers welcome all other teenagers with open arms, minds and hearts. We are a small church with a small youth group but the church is on FIRE! We are growing more and more every week. We are growing not only in number but we are growing spiritually also and if that's not God I don't know what is. I would like to give the parents some insight on what we do as a youth group. First of all, in Sunday school I teach on a different subject nearly every week; ranging from music to worship and everyday issues that teenagers deal with like sex, drugs, and peer pressure. On Wednesday nights, we are currently doing a study on the book of Revelation. A lot of questions were being asked about the end times so I felt led by the spirit to start this study (we even have some young adults join us on Wednesday nights). Once a month, on a Wednesday night I try to hold a youth service for our teenagers and young adults. Also, I try to do an activity once a month either on a Friday or Saturday night. This could include but not limited to sporting events, movies, bowling, skating, outings at various places including our house. To do these activities we need money, so we have fundraisers through out the year. Some are a daily thing like a car wash and some are longer such as selling calendars and candy. We also have different ministries for the youth to find themselves involved in; things like the praise team and the Upward Bound Drama Team which was started less than a year ago. Well, if you and your family are in the area and looking for a church where you can be at home. Remember, even Jesus was fed at the Upper Room.
